When I first saw my photo on the cover of @people magazine cover I cried and then…

I decided to play the ultimate prank on my family and childhood best friend.

Here’s the backstory:

One hour before @people magazine showed up to my house in Vermont I was a mess. I was crying in my bedroom because I hated everything in my closet and didn’t know what to wear for the shoot.

I had tried on more than 20 outfits. I felt ugly and overwhelmed.

And eventually, I just burst into tears. At that exact moment, my daughter snapped a horrible photo of me and then walked out of the room.

Turns out I had nothing to be scared of. Everybody from @people was amazing and put me at ease.

So when the cover came out (it’s on stands right now!) I remembered that hideous photo and had an idea…

What if we took that hideous photo and made a fake People Magazine cover. And then, I FaceTimed my family and told them it was the real one…😂

My childhood best friend @jodi.b.az picked up at the salon - thought it was awful.
My husband @the.chrisrobbins - didn’t quite know what to say.
My son @oakley_robbins - (always the optimist) spun the positive.

I haven’t had that much fun in a while!

With big moments in life it is so important to celebrate and laugh.

And I want to give an extra BIG SHOUTOUT to @jodi.b.az for letting me post this with foils in her hair.

I also want to thank the entire @people magazine team for such an incredible experience and especially:

@allisonmichaelorenstein for the incredible cover and photography !
@_alexxross_ for the amazing conversation and interview !
@xaviervelasquez for the beautiful hair !
@daniwagenerbeauty for the flawless makeup !
My daughter Kendall for the outfits !

😂♥️ Now I need to know, whose reaction made you laugh the hardest?!

Legends of @uttaranchaluniversitydehradun 🤣🔇

And that’s the story of Erica/Lois and my Winnipeg adventure! ❤️

A little fun, a little spooky 👻, lots of Smallville love, and so many lovely people along the way. Good laughs, sweet moments, and memories to take home! 🥰✨
