Famous mosaic mural of a man and woman kissing. Located in Barcelona’s Gothic Quarter entitled:
“The World Comes to Life with Each Kiss” “El Món Neix en Cada Besada”
Created by artist Joan Fontcuberta in 2014 to celebrate the tricentennial of the end of Catalonia’s siege on Barcelona. Symbolizing freedom, love and community resilience.
The mural is made up of 4,000 small ceramic tiles, each with a photograph submitted by locals in response to the question: What does freedom mean to you?
To this day this mural is super popular with tourists and locals alike that will stand in long lines to pose for a photo kissing their sweetheart in front of the Kissing Wall. ❤️
