The Taj Mahal definitely deserves its reputation. Seeing it through the mist at 6am was a breathtaking experience. The perfect symmetry (achieved 400 years ago) and the craftsmanship are astonishing, and it was fascinating to learn that the minarets at the corners were built tilting slightly outward. This was a deliberate safety measure so that, in the event of an earthquake, they would fall away from the main tomb!
