The world needs the next generation of leaders

It’s time to step up.

What an honor it was speaking at @libertyuniversity .

The future looks very bright 🙏

And we need to bring back block parties

Can you plant bulbs in your winter containers? Absolutely, y’all, and it is the secret to gorgeous color that keeps on giving! Comment BULBS and I’ll send you my favorites. I tuck Delft Blue bulbs right down into my cool-weather containers, layered under all that pretty foliage. You get a beautiful, lush pot now, and come spring those bulbs push up and surprise you with the prettiest blooms. It is like planting a little gift to your future self! Remeber, cool weather plants need to be planted in the 60s!!

Aye @mojobrookzz I’ve been hearing what you’ve been saying about me…

Well it's been a week, I can tell you.
The great cutback and tidy up of 2026 was commenced. The sun shone (and despite this it was freezing).
Crumble has retreated to her blanket.
It was all going so well until I sat down to read my favourite column in the whole world, only to see that after 25 years @itsmarinahyde announced she was retiring from the Guardian.
To put this into context, only just last year I decided that I was going to be Marina Hyde when I grew up.
A truly brilliant, original writer. Irreverent and acerbic and laugh out loud funny. In the days of CheatGPT and Misanthropic's Fraude, she was the human who proved that human writing was still the goal they were falling short of.
It's been a blow.
Her book arrived today which will be superb. It takes a lot for me to buy a book (see above about Swedish death cleaning and emptying my house of all belongings), but exceptions have to be made.
I will regroup and get myself back outside again this week, there is much more to do and the box caterpillars are needing a firm talking to as well (now is the time for biologics if you use them).
If you are sitting on your hands and not sure what needs doing for the garden, now is the time also to think about ordering your spring bulbs (alliums, tulips etc) but don't put them in the ground until much later. I wait until Christmas, (and then another week because the ground is invariably frozen 😂).
For anyone who enjoys a bit of classical music, this is your reminder to listen to BBC radio 3 this Wednesday 19.30. My son's choir singing Carmina Burana, and not to make it all about me but the noisy audience member cheering for them might have been a certain gardener 😂.
Happy Sunday to you beautiful people.
We made it 🥳💚🌿
