Studio vibe #wip
After hunkering down focusing on small collages and assemblages from studio fabrics and saved objects I have felt the need to scale up and drape.
The draped latex material here was the last imprint that I took from my old studio floor in the Old Malthouse at Bath Artist Studios. Part of the ‘Empreinter’ series started in 2019 and exhibited in the show ‘Index’ curated by thorpstavri.
The project began when I discovered the original floorboards beneath a damaged hardboard panel after a leak in the studio. The original floorboards were beautifully persevered and ingrained with dust accumulated over time. Uncovering the floor I wondered who walked here before? What memory or matter is embedded here?
