“Chirps” are playful taunts exchanged between players, often during intense moments. Team Canada’s Bird Marchand is a master at chirping, don’t let that teddy bear commercial for Tim Hortons fool you!
Even though these bites of banter keep the energy high and the players engaged, chirping the ref is not appreciated and often lands the player in the penalty box!
Team Canada’s cheeky crow chirped the ref and will now spend 2 minutes in the penalty box hoping this doesn’t cost his team a medal!
