THE FINALE OF THE 2026 RACING TRILOGY RECAP.
My first ultra DNF 😣. Decided to run as fast as my little legs would take me so I wouldn’t be agitated by the unGodly number of drones and media crews. Alas, the adrenaline of being glazed by the aid station volunteers for sticking with the lead gents could only take me so far. I marched into the now infamous Bridger Jack aid station at mile 96 and declared I would be dropping out. They told me it was TOO EARLY for me to drop. We got in a regular cowboy stand off. Unfortunately, I was too depleted to argue. I got back out to finish the remaining 145 miles with two absolute gems @adubs.runs and her pacer @ryanmiller34 (thank you for saving my race out of the pure kindness of your hearts 💚).
Felt good for a bit, felt bad for a bit, felt good again, felt bad again…you get it. “Hm those clouds look a little ominous.” “Hm the wind seems to be picking up.” “Hm it looks like it’s pissing rain over there.” “Woof half the race has been evacuated for flash floods, good thing I’ll get to finish.”

Was one of six racers who started the climb to Geyser Pass before the race was cancelled. At one point I looked back to see a stack of trees crash onto the spot on the trail where I had been sleeping a mere 3 minutes earlier. The sound and the visual of those trees coming down are going to stay with me for a very long time.

I think the last 40 mile section was shaping up to be one for the ages. The way @bennycoubs_ultrarunner was moving ahead of me in third place was amazing, if not mildly irritating when I couldn’t make up ground on him no matter how hard I went. But, anyway, I won’t dwell on “what could have been” for our beloved Commonwealth.

I’ll finish with a rare moment of sentimentality from a usually cold bitch. It’s not the end of the world to lose your job, I know this. But, I’d be lying if I said there haven’t been hard moments where I wake up feeling like I no longer have a place in this world. Thank you to those who so selflessly kept me going, racing and otherwise. It’s been quite the ride these past five months. I wouldn’t have wanted the finale any other way 💚
