8 months agoA few things come to mind: 1. Don’t waste your precious time left on this earth but be mindful of every moment. 2. Make lists of things you would like to do before you forget about them - recommended books to read or films to watch; magical places to visit; artists / songs to enjoy 3. Remember old hobbies you gave up. 4. Simple pleasures - rainbows, butterflies, a child’s laugh. 5. Eat the food you love, but mindfully, to savor every mouthful. 6. Reconnect with old friends. 7. Make peace with yourself 8. Challenge yourself to experience new things (feel the fear but do it anyway). 9. Forgive but don’t forget. 10. Find your tribe. Xx
8 months agoI’m not running after things this time. I’m acting from a different location in my heart this time. If it doesn’t fit I won’t wear it. ❤️
8 months agoMy flat is my sanctuary - I only kept my favourite things and I love everything in it - comfy and uncluttered and easy on the eye- I prioritise my self care and comfort so it’s all about nice food - favourite Tv- good books and looking after myself - It has taken me ages sad to say and I still wobble occasionally - but I’m getting there and you will too
8 months agoI’m 5 months in. No divorce yet but new townhome with my dead daughters 2 🐈🐈⬛cats. I get up to feed then, check the stock market, exercise bike, walk if weather allows (we just had a blizzard) , do art projects, hit thrift shops for cheap interesting frames, sometimes do lunch out with specific grief friends. I Spend more time in pajamas—- chilly these last 2 weeks and more snow today! I Go for a drive, fix the place: new windows, new furnace, new gas logset for fireplace…… I painted 3 vanities and purchased new mirrors. It’s cozy with all my important “things” around me. I have a room with a view over a marsh which sold me on the place. I Play with cats, dream of my summer garden flowers….. go to bed early reading. Peace and quiet. No discussions on how sloppy he was, dirty kitchen, soda cans, or fights about my will. No snoring or having to knock on his home office door. I eat Chocolate. I purchase fresh flowers. My nervous system is relaxing. No trying to avoid him in the other house. Half the old house is mine and I need get the $$$ money.
8 months agoLong marriage 25 years, single for 15 years! I choose peace, safety and happiness with my cocker spaniel. Financially never in debt since living alone! But the legacy of not knowing what I liked, or being allowed to buy for me still lingers! The guilt on spending. On me. This chapter is believing that you are worthy of happiness x
