Die traditionelle Clubnacht beim SONIC MATTER Festival startet dieses Jahr mit einem Fest für Nostalgiker:innen: Die Syrian Cassette Archives öffnen ihren Fundus von Popmusik aus der goldenen Ära des Tonbands. In den späteren Stunden treffen Gäste aus Kairo auf feste Grössen des Zürcher Nachtlebens: Lua Jungck mit Kostproben aus ihrem Album, ZULI, dessen Anfänge im Hip Hop bis heute durch seinen vielschichtigen DJ-Sets scheinen, Donia L Jelly, die harte Beats spielerisch mit verträumtem Ambient verzahnt, und Ink! mit seinem Baukasten aus Techno, Rave, Bass und Dub.

This year’s club night at the SONIC MATTER Festival kicks off with a celebration for nostalgics: Syrian Cassette Archives are opening up their collection of pop music from the golden age of tape recording. In the later hours, guests from Cairo will meet established figures of Zurich’s nightlife: Lua Jungck with a taste of her new album; ZULI, whose hip-hop roots shine through in his multi-layered DJ sets; Donia L Jelly, who play- fully intertwines hard beats with dreamy ambient sounds; and Ink! with his mix of techno, rave sounds, bass music and dub.
