There’s a kind of beauty that marks the skin long after the carved line is visible, yet the line only comes from sitting still and choosing to permeate the body with the sting. Petal by petal, hour by hour — a trial of endurance met by choice until hues that weren’t there before soak the sub-dermal layer. The beautiful, quiet thing that happens next is when you catch it in the corner of your eye — this bloom that didn’t exist yesterday, dark at the edges, burning at the center is now visible in the way that original line remains invisible to the naked eye. It comes rooted in mud, stitched with a midnight needle and the conscious decision to hold still when once, your breath wilted unseen. That’s the part where the eye is blind. They just see the vibrance.
