Jesus Clan

🔥 Our first physical Jesus Clan meeting of the year happened and it was powerful.
So good to finally gather again, pray together, talk honestly, and realign as a community 🤍

During the meeting, the community convener @__themarv gave a clear charge: be initiators, not reciprocators.

Initiators move because God has spoken.
Reciprocators wait for conditions to feel right. When obedience is delayed by people’s responses, safety, or recognition, conviction weakens and community suffers.

The convener also addressed how reciprocation often hides behind respectable language. We call it boundaries, discernment, emotional intelligence, or self-respect. But Scripture does not teach conditional love, conditional service, or conditional obedience. Following Christ is conviction-led, not response-driven.

He then pressed into why believers must continually return to the gospel. We live in times where many things are being taught as the gospel, often sincerely, but wrongly. When these ideas are absorbed, convictions slowly erode. Before long, we stop magnifying God for who He is and for what He has done, and we drift into constant fixing and rule-making.

The problem with that approach is simple. Human problems are endless. If the gospel becomes advice, we will always need more rules, more steps, more systems. It never ends.

The gospel is good news, not good advice 🙌🏽
It announces what God has already done, not what we must do to fix ourselves. It centers us on God and His finished work, not on human effort.

We were also reminded how to approach Scripture 📖
We do not read the Bible to find ourselves or our potential. We read Scripture to see Christ. It is only in His light that we truly see light.

This meeting brought clarity, correction, and direction for the year ahead.
