A shocking incident has come to light from Bihar's Saran district, where a woman abandoned her two young children in an auto-rickshaw and fled with her purported lover.

The woman is also accused of taking jewellery worth approximately ₹22 lakh from her house.

According to reports, the woman had travelled by train to Chhapra Junction with her three-year-old daughter and one-and-a-half-year-old son.

From there, she hired an auto-rickshaw to reach Baliya Mod in the Manjhi police station area. Upon reaching the destination, she reportedly asked the auto driver to look after the children and then disappeared.

When she failed to return for a long time, the driver and local residents became suspicious and informed the police.

The police rescued the two children and took them into their care. During the investigation, they managed to trace their father, Amit Singh, a resident of Pandeypur in Uttar Pradesh's Ballia district.

When Amit reached the police station and saw his children safe, he became overwhelmed with emotion and hugged them.

Amit reportedly told the police that he had been married for around six years and alleged that his wife had left home with jewellery worth nearly ₹22 lakh before disappearing with her alleged lover.

The Manjhi police are currently investigating the matter. The woman's whereabouts, the circumstances under which the children were abandoned, and the allegations regarding the jewellery are yet to be independently established.

The incident has raised serious concerns about the safety and emotional well-being of the two little children caught in the middle of this family dispute & mother's selfishness.
