For over a century, this rarely seen work by Egon Schiele has remained without a frame, quietly existing in its original state. Now, I’d like to take my time finding the perfect frame for it.

HOW TO MAKE: Viral Beef & Tortilla Kebabs

Ingredients:
2 lbs ground beef
2 tsps smoked paprika
1 red onion (diced)
8 cloves garlic
1 cup feta cheese, crumbled (mixed into beef)
5 tbsps dill
1/4 cup parsley
1/2 tsp cumin
1 tsp oregano
2 tsps salt
2 tsps black pepper
4 tbsps butter (melted)
10 tortillas
2 tbsps olive oil

Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. Mince the garlic, dill, and parsley.
3. In a large bowl, mix the ground beef, diced red onion, crumbled feta, garlic, herbs, and all spices until evenly combined.
4. Spread an even layer of the beef mixture directly onto each tortilla, going close to the edges.
5. Chill the tortillas in the fridge for 10-15 minutes, then slice into uniform strips or wedges.
6. Thread the strips onto skewers.
7. Brush with melted butter and olive oil.
8. Bake for 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway, until the beef is fully cooked and the tortillas are golden and crispy!

Being a South Indian, I was always romanticised by the idea of Karva Chauth, largely thanks to Bollywood movies. When I got married, I remember thinking, “This is something I would love to do too.” I love my husband, and I felt this was one beautiful way of expressing that love.

And here we are, 15 years later, and I’m still keeping the fast! I’m that South Indian woman who loves dressing up traditionally, sitting amidst all the beautifully dressed ladies, embracing the rituals and participating in whatever way I can.

But you know what? There’s something truly beautiful about these rituals. And I can only speak for myself here. For me, it comes straight from the heart. It’s never about believing that this is the only way to express my love for my husband. It’s simply one of the many little ways in which I choose to celebrate that love.

And the beauty is that he is equally involved in the whole process. When he’s home, he’s around, constantly checking on me, asking if I’m okay, and being there for the Chand dekhna and all the little traditions that come with it.

I think that’s what makes these rituals special. It’s not just about the fasting or the customs; it’s about the emotions, the togetherness and the little moments that become memories. And that’s the real beauty of it all.

Devastated to say that I’ve ruptured my ACL. The long road to recovery starts now, and l will be back stronger and more motivated than ever❤️‍🩹
