In the most rural areas of Patagonia, residents sometimes don’t have very many means of communicating with the outside world, or even with one another. The Mensajero Rural gives them a way to transmit messages. Several times a day, AM-radio stations in Argentina broadcast short personal messages sent in by residents of these sparsely populated areas. Blood-donation requests, news of missing animals, person-to-person communications, birthday wishes, and death notices all populate the airways of the Mensajero Rural. Even as internet access spreads across impossibly remote areas, AM radio remains a vital means of communication. At the link in our bio, Jordan Salama (@jordansalama19) travels across Patagonia, and talks to the communities that rely on the radio, and the hosts spreading their messages. “The arrival of two-way radios, telephones, and cellphones all changed the way people communicated,” he writes, “but none of those things had made the Mensajero Rural obsolete.” Photographs by Sebastián López Brach (@lopezbrachs) for The New Yorker.

Queen! 💚

In case you didn’t already know 🤍

I cannot even begin to explain to you the feelings you feel when you are walking where Jesus walked & seeing the places where Jesus healed people, delivered people, redeemed people, & ultimately saved people 🕊️

One of my favorite passages in the Bible is John 21, where Jesus appears on the beach to his disciples after His resurrection and restores Peter. Being on that exact beach today, my eyes welled up with tears… I could only imagine Peter on the boat fishing and seeing Jesus in the distance on the shore. Peter throws off his outer garment and jumps into the water to swim to the shore that Jesus was standing on… the exact shore I got to stand on today. There is something so special about being able to stand where Jesus stood & walk where Jesus walked. Your eyes well up, your faith expands, & your love deepens.

It’s only day two and my mind constantly keeps thinking “my Jesus, like the Jesus I KNOW & the Jesus I LOVE… my Jesus was here :’)”

John 21:4, — “Early in the morning, Jesus stood on the shore, but the disciples did not realize that it was Jesus.”

John 21:7-9 — “Then the disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, “It is the Lord!” As soon as Simon Peter heard him say, “It is the Lord,” he wrapped his outer garment around him and jumped into the water. The other disciples followed in the boat, towing the net full of fish, for they were not far from shore, about a hundred yards. When they landed, they saw a fire of burning coals there with fish on it, and some bread.”

John 21:15 — “When they had finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon son of John, do you love me more than these?” “Yes, Lord,” he said, “you know that I love you.” Jesus said, “Feed my lambs.”
