After recovering from the most magical birthday bender of my life, it’s actually hitting me that im 23. The last year and a half has been utterly chaotic and a rollercoaster filled with some of the best highs and worst lows I’ve ever experienced. Would I change any of it? Absolutely the fuck not. Making so many mistakes and acting so may times on impulse has had so many consequences, but as I reflect on what was truly one of the most fun birthdays of my life, I am so grateful for all the fuck ups because they forced so much growth. As I finally sit in myself and for the first time in my life have a sense of identity in this insane city, I could not be more grateful for the community of people that have helped me blossom into who I really am. Between experiencing the pure euphoria that is techno music and art in so many beautiful welcoming spaces, or even just meeting so many new gorgeous faces out and about, I could not feel happier being a little club rat scurrying around with my pack of fellow creatures. It took a while to find not only where I really thrived but also the motivation to go out and look and if this birthday weekend has shown me anything, it’s that I am surrounded by some of the most talented genuine and resilient people in New York. Thank you to my friends, the dolls, the theys and gays, and my family for giving me such an amazing experience, and for the first time in a while I am truly excited for what the future holds. To another year of frontal lobe development, more memories and abundance for myself and everyone around me, happy birthday to me 🥂🥹💖
