Two weeks ago, I released the original soundtrack of the film "Puisque je suis née/Since I Was Born"
Your messages and the many press responses truly meant a lot to me.
Today, I’ve learned that I have been chosen to represent Belgium at the European Film Composer Awards (The Camille Awards) in the category Best Original Score for a Feature Documentary.
I am incredibly happy and proud to defend this beautiful soundtrack on a European level, in such a prestigious competition alongside outstanding European composers.
This score — and this film — are particularly close to my heart: my 30th film, my 13th feature film score and my 4th collaboration with
@jawadrhalib , who directed one of the most powerful and necessary films I have worked on.
I had the pleasure of collaborating with extraordinary musicians, especially Syrian trumpeter
@yamen.martini , with whom we co-composed several pieces, and whose breath profoundly shaped the musical identity of the film.
Also my dear friend
@karimbaggili on oud.
I hope this soundtrack will resonate with the European jury as it has resonated with you.
Thank you to the Belgian Belgian Screen Composers Guild.
Thank you all for your support — you cannot imagine how much it means to me.
See you in Vienna, September 2026? 🙏🤞
