This horrific incident has been haunting us since yesterday.

The man who fell to his death at Six Flags Over Georgia’s Goliath roller coaster on Monday has been identified by his family as 42-year-old Hassan Jihad Ibn Kariem. Atlanta Public Schools confirmed Kariem was an employee of Wesley International Academy, a public charter school for kindergarten through eighth grade, reports 11 Alive News.

Hassan’s son was reportedly sitting next to him on the ride when he was ejected.

According to Cobb County Police, at approximately 3:58 PM on Monday, officers responded to an incident involving a male guest on the Goliath roller coaster. Preliminary information gathered through witness and employee interviews indicates Kariem was ejected from the ride - toward the end according to witnesses - and struck other patrons on the ride before falling beneath the attraction.

His fall was captured in multiple snapshots on the ride’s camera used for souvenir photos.

Kariem’s family described him as a passionate educator who loved Atlanta and was dedicated to bringing families back together.

A woman named Arabia, who identified herself as Kariem’s cousin, is begging people not to share images and video of his death online, calling it “extremely insensitive.”

Six Flags has temporarily closed several similar rides including Goliath at Six Flags Magic Mountain and Nitro at Six Flags Great Adventure. The Georgia Office of the Commissioner of Insurance and Safety Fire is investigating, Atlanta Black Star reports.

Atlanta Public Schools released a statement saying: “Atlanta Public Schools extends its deepest condolences to the family, friends, and loved ones of Mr. Kariem.”

Please keep the family of Hassan Jihad Ibn Kariem in your prayers, and please stop sharing the footage.

We send our condolences to all of his loved ones. 🤎

HOW TO QUALIFY FOR THE NEXT PHASE

How do you qualify for the next phase? By thanking God for where you are while aspiring for where you want to be. Use the weapon of gratitude. Do not allow your desire for where you are going to make you despise where you are. At every level, where you are is somebody’s prayer point. God desires us to go from glory to glory, but you must learn to say, “Thank You, Jesus,” for where you are.

Never be embarrassed by where you are in your journey of growth. Don’t live a false life just to show people that you are making it. We live in a generation of falsehood, where many have eaten up ten years of their future through falsehood, eating tomorrow’s bread today and leaving themselves hungry tomorrow.

Be proud of where you are while trusting God to take you where you need to be. Don’t let people pressure you, because one of the dangers of association is that, sometimes, if you are not careful, even sincere friends may put pressure on you to live a life you cannot yet afford.

If you repeatedly struggle to attain and sustain a certain level, it may mean that you have not yet arrived there. Stay back! When you have truly arrived at that level, it should not require so much struggle to sustain it.
