It’s been 2 weeks today since I found out my dad passed away. He passed on Monday, February 16th, 2026.
Saying those words still doesn’t make it feel any more real. It’s the trippiest and toughest thing I have ever felt. Over the past few weeks, everything I did, everything I saw, everything that I’ve been told and said-I thought it would all make it feel more real, but it hasn’t. I feel so stuck and it feels so weird.
It doesn’t make any sense. I have so many why’s for you and sooo many things I wish I said and did and so many things I still wanted to learn from you.
I love you and I wish I still had time. Time to go on drives with you with the top down driving through the canyon, time to talk business with, time to reconnect and tell you everything that’s gone on, time to see me get married and meet my future wife and kids, time to tell you that regardless of what happened that I know you were trying, time to just connect with you and tell you how much I loved you.
You’ve given me so much. I’ve taken a lot for granted from you, and I didn’t give you enough credit and I’m sorry. You were trying and so was I. I’ve never thought I’d lose you this young.
He’s had more trials than anyone I have ever met. He struggled a lot. I’ll always remember all of his jokes and all of the time we spent talking about business. Regardless of what he was going through, he would also make the craziest jokes possible, and turn a not so great moment into a moment full of laughter and make people feel so good. He was a giver, and always blessed people and expected nothing in return.
It bring me some peace that he’s hopefully no longer in all of that pain
I found a box of pictures when you were younger. Pictures I’ve never seen. Pictures that showed me before your struggles and your trials. Pictures that showed before all of the mess, a brother, a son, a husband, a child of god, and my dad.
Nothing feels real anymore. I wish we had more time. I love you so much dad. I know you’re already telling some crazy jokes up there. Rest in peace. ❤️ I love you!
