Anyone out there just not that cool? Apparently me jumping up and down in excitement and waving my hands about is ‘classic autism’ but what if it’s just mad excitement for something that gets me madly excited ? I’ve spent my life being told to calm down and grow up but …. I’m not going to do either. #birds #birding #birdlovers #crazy #cool
My husband @the.chrisrobbins took me hiking for my birthday, and I learned something I will never forget… Chris loves hiking. He’s experienced, he’s fast, and I’m usually somewhere behind him wondering if I’m slowing him down. But then he shared something a monk once taught him… With every step you take, imagine you’re giving the earth a little massage 🌎 Instead of rushing to get somewhere, slow down. Feel the ground beneath your feet. Be present. Imagine that every step is bringing a little peace and positive energy into the world. I had NEVER thought about walking that way before, suddenly, it wasn’t about how fast I could hike or how far we could go. It was about being here. Together. Surrounded by all this beauty. What a beautiful reminder that you don’t always need to get somewhere to enjoy where you are. Sometimes the best thing you can do is slow down and enjoy every step ❤️
