Being a part of the #GoodWorksTeam is incredibly rewarding.
I’ve loved serving my communities at @eastviewchurch and @iwusports. Whether it’s capturing special moments with my camera or creating them with individual students, it’s been a privilege. But seeing what can happen when people from these communities come together to support another community has been especially powerful.
When I traveled to Kenya after my freshman of college with @goyaministries, my perspective on joy and community completely changed. I saw firsthand how a loving and faithful community can bring so much joy, even in places with so little. I have strived to bring that same joy to my community back home in Bloomington-Normal.
Getting the opportunity to bless the REM High School and its students, the people who helped shape my perspective on joy and community, is the ultimate blessing.
Using my selection to the Good Works Team as a platform, I asked my community here in Bloomington-Normal to donate shoes for students in Kenya at REM High School, and together we collected 122 pairs of shoes in just two weeks! Donations are still being collected! Don’t hesitate to reach out.
