Remembering my Mama on her second anniversary in heaven. I’ve always believed that those who can fall asleep easily, even in the most awkward and uncomfortable positions, have peace of mind. That’s one of the many ways I can describe my Mama — and that’s also how she left us: she fell asleep, peacefully. Looking back, I have so many fond memories of her. I remember growing up, Mama would always say, “Stand up straight, anak,” whenever she noticed I was slouching. I used to find it a bit irritating, but those words literally made me the tallest among my siblings (hehe) and, figuratively, taught me to hold my head up high despite life’s challenges. Mama would also say, “Gabos kita may pasang krus” (everyone has a cross to carry), referring to the cross Jesus bore. It’s one of the life lessons that taught me to stay grounded and face difficulties with hope and optimism. She would often remind us, “Don’t worry. Thy will be done.” Perhaps this was the reason she was always at peace — she did her best and entrusted the rest to God. Her faith kept her humble, and her kindness was something I admired most. Beyond all the lessons she taught me, Mama will always remain in me. You know why? Because I got her smile. And that smile will always remind me to carry on — and to keep smiling, just like her. Thank you, Mama, for leaving me with so many beautiful memories to cherish forever. I miss you and Papa extra today. I love you both. 🤍
Adelina Ashba - Due 12/31/26 I thought I would share a little story with you guys. For many, many years, I’ve had this reoccurring dream of a tiny little girl with headphones on watching me from the side of the stage. I never understood what this dream meant until my wife came to me about seven months ago and told me she was pregnant. I immediately looked at her with joy n’ tears in my eyes and told her it’s going to be a girl. I was 1000% sure of it. It’s pretty wild how life works out. We cannot wait to meet our beautiful bundle of joy. God is good, and this is the biggest blessing I could have ever imagined. I can will finally have my own family and be the dad I never had. Special thanks to each n’ everyone of you (our extended ASHBA Family n’ friends) for all the love and support that you consistently show us!! We love you all!!! #blessed #meanttobe #Godisgood #ASHBAfamily

A shining light in the dark. Her best friends are book characters, things that are small that most people miss, and every person she’s ever met.
