I find military routes fascinating! This week, I got to tour @thecitadeladmissions and learn more about military terminology in higher ed. Scroll back to see my notes from my fly-in to the US Naval Academy.

In comparison to the Academies, I appreciate that The Citadel allows for greater flexibility in majors/minors/degrees, not all cadets are athletes, and their most popular minor is Fine Arts - a path that allows for more self-expression in a very regimented community. Additionally, post-grad options in an Academy typically follow a pretty defined path to a career largely controlled by the military where many Citadel grads go into industry and the workforce to lead civilian lives post graduation.

As I jotted down that the goals of the first year are to inoculate cadets to stress and to teach them how to be good followers, I decide I'm not cut out for it but I have great respect for those who are. I also have a full guide on military routes that goes further into detail about options. Reach out if you're interested in learning more!🎖️
