Today, we say goodbye to the limestone beauty as The Old Joliet Haunted Prison.

The prison was the place that brought that spark back for me. It pulled me back into the haunt industry after almost fully stepping away. The amount of anger and sadness I am feeling is beyond comprehension. Today closes a door that was not ready to be shut for a VERY long time. There was something special there that I’ve never seen at any other haunted attraction before, and to have her taken away is the biggest punch in the face.

The amount of amazing opportunities I’ve received since joining the prison is beyond imaginable, and those will be forever held near and dear to my heart. I’ve made some amazing friends, had some of the most memorable interactions with patrons, and strengthened bonds even more with those I had known beforehand. The prison was pulling something out of me that I didnt know I had. I don’t think would have happened anywhere else honestly.

I'm not sure where this will take me but let me at least say...

To those who were able to come out and see her in operation: thank you.

To those who worked alongside me: thank you.
