You can see the density of London, the sprawl of the Benelux region, the glow of northern Italy, the coastline of Spain traced in light. Truly a stunning look at the continent from above. Paris is visible. Berlin is visible. The Alps sit dark and quiet between the lit-up valleys. It is remarkable how much you can identify from space. Yesterday, New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani released a video calling Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu “a war criminal” and “the architect of a horrific genocide against the Palestinian people.” Mamdani said Netanyahu is not welcome in New York City and called on the federal government to enforce the International Criminal Court’s arrest warrant if he returns to the United States.
