Yesterday we were at the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) @energygovuk for the Great British Energy Community Energy event.☘️☀️
Ed Miliband, Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero, painted a picture of what community empowerment really looks like. A new economy where communities own a stake in the energy around them.
The panel featured Dr Alan Whitehead CBE, Helen Seagrave from Great British Energy, and Emma Bridge from Community Energy England all talking about what it’s going to take to grow community energy across the UK.
The conversations in the room were just as powerful. We connected with community energy groups from across the country, explored new funding opportunities and partnerships, and had some brilliant conversations about bringing more communities into the energy transition.
A really valuable day for Surya Community Energy Team!⚡️
