Jio Platforms, the company that transformed how millions of Indians access the internet, is reportedly preparing for what could become India’s largest-ever initial public offering (IPO). With more than 52 crore telecom subscribers, the company could make history in the Indian stock market. The reported IPO timeline points to an opening on October 21, a closing on October 23 and a listing on October 28, although these dates are not yet final. If it breaks the record, Jio Platforms would surpass Hyundai Motor India’s ₹27,859 crore IPO in 2024. Beyond the record-breaking size, Jio Platforms could also rank among India’s four largest listed companies by market capitalisation, depending on its final valuation and market performance. The company that helped make mobile data affordable across India could now reshape the country’s IPO history.
