A viral video showing a construction worker carrying heavy bricks up a 21-storey building has reignited conversations about the dignity, safety and treatment of India’s blue-collar workforce. According to the claim accompanying the footage, the labourer was carrying a load of around 20 kg on his head because workers were reportedly not permitted to use the building’s four modern lifts. The exact location and circumstances, however, could not be independently confirmed.

The incident has drawn attention to a broader concern: the people responsible for constructing modern buildings are often excluded from the conveniences enjoyed by the people who eventually occupy them. A Scroll report published in August 2025 documented how workers and delivery personnel in Mumbai’s high-rise buildings are frequently restricted to service elevators, with some workers reporting that they must climb multiple floors when lift access is denied.

Austin tech entrepreneur Adam Robinson, his wife Helen Sharp and their two children, ages 2 and 4, were among the nine people who died Sunday afternoon when a private jet crashed in Florida, according to Sharp's father, Dudley.

Robinson's father told the American-Statesman that another couple from Austin who were friends with his son and daughter-in-law were also on board, but he declined to identify them. He said the couple's nanny, who resided in Colorado, also was on the plane.

The Learjet 60 was flying from Austin to the Bahamas when it crashed in a residential area near Cresthaven, Fla.
