Spring has sprung!!! Time to bring an old friend back to life. So far so good with the NOCO GENIUS 5. First time using a trickle charger….anyone else have experience (good or bad) with the NOCO?

The reason I’m sharing it here is that the queerer I become, the more resentment I feel toward people who continue to choose to give their love, time, attention, and energy to cis men in romantic relationships, and to build families with them. And I think what deeply troubles me isn’t simply that these relationships exist, but what they reveal about the distance between our political commitments and our most intimate choices. Because at what point do we begin to consider our desires, our romantic attachments, our dreams of building families, and the ways we distribute our care as political questions??? At what point do we become willing to question what our romantic choices continue to sustain, even as our political discourse claims to be building an entirely different world!!!??? This post isn’t “just” about sexuality, which so many people describe as something they have no choice over, but also about the political distribution of love and care. I’m not only talking about attraction to cis men, but about the sheer amount of emotional labor, resources, loyalty, and imagination of the future that continues to be invested in heterosexuality and the traditional family. Even CHILDREN are taking to the streets to demand more rights, but how many demonstrations against sexual and gender-based violence has your boyfriend attended, PLEASE???? I am so tired of hearing cis women tell me they wish they could be lesbians like me, while I am terrified of holding my lovers’ hands in public because of cis men. DO IT THEN. BECOME A FUCKING LESBIAN.
