Martha Stewart is going viral and catching some heat after posting and deleting a Halloween photo of her seemingly dressed as a homeless person with a sign that reads, “I’m Hungry.” On Halloween (October 31), Stewart — who describes the holiday as one other favorites of the year — shared a photo of her costume to her personal Instagram and Facebook pages.

It showed her in ripped and tattered clothes, with dirt-like makeup on her face. As she frowned, she held a clipboard up, as if it were a piece of cardboard. In all caps, the sign read, “I AM HUNGRY. HELP ME!!” In the caption of the post, Stewart — who reportedly has an estimated net worth of $400 million — wrote, “My QVC candles are perfect for Halloween!!!!!” The photo of the costume was the last swipe in a 3-swipe carousel post. In the prior swipes, she proved her candles sold on QVC. In one top comment, a social media user wrote, “Omg…not Martha being poor for Halloween?!? 😬.“

As other social media users began dragging her, Stewart quickly deleted the entire post from her Instagram and Facebook pages. However, the criticism continued as social users took to all platforms. Social users even posted under her older and newer posts — calling her out for posting as if nothing happened. Users slammed her as “offensive,” “tone deaf,” “gross,” and “out of touch” for seemingly poking fun at people struggling with poverty. Hours after the the post-and-delete, Stewart released a statement to Page Six. It read, “I’ve spent decades teaching others how to celebrate Halloween — sharing fun, festive recipes, providing unique craft ideas, and giving tips on entertaining and hosting to make the most of one of my favorite holidays of the year. I am distressed that my Halloween costume yesterday, which was intended to bring more awareness to the very serious subject of homelessness, has offended people, which was never my intention. Homelessness...”

Here’s What Happened in the World in the Last 24 Hours:

Royal Navy and RAF designated terrorist organizations; MI6 labeled a hostile group. Cited as retaliation for UK’s July 2026 IRGC measures under the State Threats Act and alleged base support for US-Israeli actions.

Reports from Israeli media outlets and international defense correspondents confirm that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and the Israeli Air Force (IAF) have finalized operational preparations for a potential new round of joint military operations with the U.S. against Iran.

Overnight into Sunday, November 1, 2026, long-range Ukrainian strike drones launched a massive attack targeting major energy infrastructure in the city of Kstovo, located in Russia’s Nizhny Novgorod region

Reports confirm that Qatari mediators have been engaged in continuous, multi-day talks in Tehran and Doha to broker a deal between Iran and the United States aimed at averting a renewed escalation.

As of November 1, 2026, Turkey has officially barred children and teenagers under the age of 15 from opening or maintaining social media accounts under new regulations issued by the Cyber Security Presidency.

Iran has repeatedly stated that any military base used by foreign forces to conduct strikes against Iranian territory is considered a legitimate target. Concerns surrounding RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire, England, have escalated due to the base’s direct role in hosting U.S. strategic bombers (such as B-52s and B-1Bs).

North Korean state media (KCNA) confirmed that the country’s Missile Administration conducted a test launch of a tactical ballistic missile equipped with a cluster-bomb (scatterable submunition) warhead off its west coast.

Satellite imagery and military intelligence analysis have confirmed that China built large-scale mock-ups of U.S. aircraft carriers and destroyers in its desert firing ranges to test and refine its anti-ship ballistic missiles (ASBMs).

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) confirmed that the North Korean state-sponsored cyber group TraderTraitor(also linked to the Lazarus Group ecosystem) was responsible for the $6.3 billion cryptocurrency heist from Binance.
