10 days agoI lowered my face to the flower in bloom, and breathed in the warmth of its delicate perfume. Its petals brushed softly the bridge of my nose, still jeweled with dew where the morning arose. I lingered there longer than innocence knew, my lips near the petals, my skin kissed with dew. The garden stood silent, the daylight grew thin, while one trembling droplet slipped under my chin. I rose from the flower, but left it untorn, still fragrant and open, still wet from the morn. And there on my skin, like a secret made new, remained the sweet evidence— one drop of its dew.
