6 months agoGoing back to UMass, Cal’s teams have never exactly been the standard for compliance, and he has bounced from college to the NBA back to college chasing checks.
6 months agoThe end goal for a certain number of collegiate athletes has been to get to the pros to get the money, all of a sudden now you can become a multimillionaire in college so of course more guys will come back instead of risking going to a draft and not getting drafted which happened often
7 months agoI hate that egomaniac. It's not about money. It's about one time cashing in on your extreme talent. Out of all the people that go out for high School basketball, you know how many get a big pay day?
7 months ago1 year scholarship so once that contract is completed your free to seek any other opportunity. What happens when a coach cuts a player before the season is over? I haven't heard 1 coach speak on that aspect.
7 months agoHow many of Cal's recruits at Kentucky walk out of Lexington with a degree? Please don't act as if you're as concerned as much about the "student" athlete as you are making MILLONS more per year than the president of the university.
7 months ago5yrs eligibility total from HS graduation whether injured, redshirt, limited play or other reason. 5 season max. If they already played pro international then ineligible. Limit 2 intl max per team. Soon we won’t see American HS kids playing at our elite colleges.
7 months agoIt’s ok when the coaches do it. They make millions of these kids then complain when they market themselves.
7 months agoI agree with the statement but Matt Painter really is the only coach in college basketball that has a leg to stand on here with @boilerball. Literally only two coaches in 50 years and three starting seniors on the team since Freshman. Yeah, I agree with what he’s saying but, yeah, only one school still does it right and that’s Purdue.
