Every once in a while someone finds an old hi8 tape and asks me if I can digitize it for them - thereβs usually a hidden gem or two of some sort.
π
Case in point - this unseen line of @tonyferguson at Hotspot, filmed by @ben_chibber in 1996, right before he got his first vx1000/fisheye set up. (Ben was a good sport about posting this clip despite the filming not being up to his own standards π)
If it seems familiar, thatβs because Tony refilmed the line soon after with @timdowling_dp , which ended up as his opening line in Mouse (slide 2).
π
Couldnβt help but think of @youwillsoon βs affinity for Pro Leathers when I saw this clip. Classic for the Girl camp.
Thanks again to Ben for sharing bits of his personal archive, and @chowderkittens for the transfer cam loans.πβ€οΈ
Bonus fun fact - I saw tony film the Mouse version in person, years before I knew him.
Love these sorts of finds.

Double bonus fun fact - that piece of plywood on the stairs was the first step up a lot of us in Vancouver ever skated.

A former Israeli soldier exposes how the IDF treats Gaza as a βwild westβ with βno rulesβ.
Yuval Green served in the 55th Brigadeβs 66th Battalion as a medic.
He was present when the Battalionβs commander Ofir Adani gave a speech before they entered Gaza in which he told his men: βI want you to be angry. I want you to rage. I want you to have a deep sense of revenge. Anyone who messes with us should die. He and his family. And his relatives. And everyone who supported him.β
Green said that as well as Adani giving several speeches like this, Ezra Yachin, a 98-year-old who was involved in a Zionist militiaβs 1948 Deir Yassin massacre of Palestinians, gave a speech to his company before they entered Gaza. βThis guy comes to us, a group of soldiers, and heβs just telling the story of how he massacred villagersβ¦and no one blinks an eye. And I think this shows you very very well what type of atmosphere weβve had before we went into Gaza. The writing was on the wall.β
Green said he saw widespread damage to residential properties, which could constitute war crimes.
βI went to [my commander] and I told him, if weβre burning down those houses, Iβm leaving the next day. Iβm not willing to be a part of it. This is the last straw. And, thatβs what happened. They burnt down the houses. I went back, and this was it.β](https://s11.imginn.com/850319381_18131000245842915_4194245196581517089_n.jpg?t51.82787-15/850319381_18131000245842915_4194245196581517089_n.jpg?stp=dst-jpg_e35_p720x720_sh2.08_tt6&_nc_cat=1&ig_cache_key=NDAwOTE2OTYyODgzNjI3NjAxMzE4MTMxMDAwMjQyODQyOTE1.3-ccb7-5&ccb=7-5&_nc_sid=58cdad&efg=eyJ2ZW5jb2RlX3RhZyI6IkNMSVBTLnhwaWRzLjEwODAuc2RyLnZpZGVvX2RlZmF1bHRfY292ZXJfZnJhbWUuQzMifQ%3D%3D&_nc_ohc=iJrJ5jYcUYEQ7kNvwHECoO9&_nc_oc=AdrUSddF-VhYLqG_TP6UNcncSvRump8wtdzfalsapGesVt6EQ4KvA6dAKn3LNFXdj4bWbIdDpaospaqbXFlMJTHi&_nc_zt=23&_nc_ht=scontent-dfw6-1.cdninstagram.com&_nc_gid=Bd6V5uL_WK3oQ3CVNaasAA&_nc_ss=70689&oh=00_AQN_hqoQWJc47ZGstlFFShBhzI8yJVHDZEjyXigbzCQYzg&oe=6AD830CF)
