Kanna Laddu Thinna Aasaiya is a 2013 Tamil romantic comedy directed by K. S. Manikandan, starring Santhanam, Powerstar Srinivasan, Sethu and Vishakha Singh. The film was released on 13 January 2013 and was Santhanam’s first production venture.

The story revolves around three close friends — Kaliyaperumal (Santhanam), Power Kumar (Powerstar Srinivasan) and Shiva (Sethu) — whose lives mainly revolve around drinking, hanging out and chasing girls. Everything changes when Sowmiya (Vishakha Singh) moves into the house opposite Shiva’s. All three fall for her and make a deal that she should choose whom she wants.

What follows is a hilarious competition between the three friends as each tries different ways to impress Sowmiya. Their plans become increasingly ridiculous, leading to misunderstandings, failed attempts and a series of chaotic situations. The comedy mainly comes from the trio’s rivalry and their over-the-top schemes.

The film is inspired by K. Bhagyaraj’s 1981 film Indru Poi Naalai Vaa, which also revolves around three men falling for the same woman, although the treatment and screenplay of Kanna Laddu Thinna Aasaiya are different.
