✨{Artist Spotlight 6}✨
Co-founders Shriya Srinivasan and Joshua George lead Anubhava Dance Company, a U.S. ensemble advancing Bharatanatyam through conceptually rigorous, ensemble-driven choreography. Over a decade, they have developed a body of work that expands the form’s reach, exploring subjects from philosophy to the human nervous system.
Beyond performance, Anubhava fosters interdisciplinary inquiry, including haptics-based projects with Srinivasan’s BIONICS Lab at Harvard, featured in PBS NOVA. In 2025, they established the Intersections conference at MIT and Harvard to build intellectual infrastructure for the diaspora. Through Anubhava, Srinivasan and George position Indian classical dance as a living art form capable of engaging the world’s most complex ideas.
They are presenting Tapestry of Rhythms explores rhythm as a living architecture. Movement unfolds in intricate patterns, where steps and gestures interlace, building a kinetic design that shifts and evolves.
Sound and motion converse, balancing precision with improvisation. Patterns emerge, fold, and reconfigure, forming a lattice of pulse and form.
This work invites you to inhabit rhythm itself - measured, vibrant, and alive. Each step, each accent, contributes to a larger whole, an abstract celebration of structure, flow, and the joy of movement realized through disciplined artistry. The work will be performed by Shriya Srinivas and Dhanya Pragaspathy!
