![I could face up to two years in prison in Queensland for saying six words.
“From the [something] to the [something].”
You know the words. The government knows the words. And it has written them into criminal law.
By July, more than 30 people had reportedly been arrested under Queensland’s laws banning certain expressions, including for saying or displaying them.
To me, these are some of the most draconian, pro-Zionist restrictions on speech imaginable.
And even if you don’t care about Palestine, you should care about this.
What happens when the next thing you want to protest becomes the thing politicians don’t want you talking about?
Who gets to decide which words are criminal? Which causes we can speak up for? Whose freedom we can demand?
A government that can criminalise your words has extraordinary power over your ability to challenge it.
Every Australian should be concerned.](https://s11.imginn.com/842651108_1595752071489000_7513435259599810406_n.jpg?t15.5256-10/842651108_1595752071489000_7513435259599810406_n.jpg?stp=dst-jpg_e15_p320x320_tt6&_nc_cat=111&ig_cache_key=NDAwNTQxOTk0MjU3MjA4OTY4Ng%3D%3D.3-ccb7-5&ccb=7-5&_nc_sid=58cdad&efg=eyJ2ZW5jb2RlX3RhZyI6IkNMSVBTLnhwaWRzLjY0MC5zZHIudmlkZW9fZGVmYXVsdF9jb3Zlcl9mcmFtZS5DMyJ9&_nc_ohc=uFQ1UkHXIiUQ7kNvwGNydwr&_nc_oc=Adp1e-481g-Lr2UoRGGLps4W2aoSp6qdflw3nN6woByIH85u5ip4HoibgYHreIDdBpr6vXD6TL5ftbv7GX-jsrnY&_nc_zt=23&_nc_ht=scontent-atl3-2.cdninstagram.com&_nc_gid=K_m5-SQe2cP3_DquKFrhpg&_nc_ss=70689&oh=00_AQPlgguV9oLYVuaTL_EzO83-85xxGsOoviDC4olq6YiOtg&oe=6AD616DE)
