The Sable Collective is beloved in Philadelphia and we want to begin to spread our love of beauty things further! We need help creating a profitable and sustainable customer acquisition funnel. As we all know, it takes money to make money so we are pitching our business to @entreworks and @citizensbank for an opportunity to receive a grant of 10k to go towards in house product production, ad ad creation that can help us attract, and keep new customers! Help me become a FINALIST: If you love Sable, if we have helped you put a smile on your face when you looked in the mirror, or put a little pep in your step as you walked out into the world: 🥇Like this video 🥇Share this video 🥇Comment below with a little ❤️ to help us make it to the FINALS 🙏🏽
I’ve been working on a new top pattern, and the first version was pretty good. But I just couldn’t leave it alone. I started tweaking and tweaking, and somewhere along the way became fixated on every possible adjustment I could make to achieve sleeve perfection. I tried simplifying it, because I think the best design solutions are often the simplest, but that wasn’t better. Then I went in the opposite direction, exploring more traditional and technical pattern cutting methods, before eventually circling back to almost where I started. Six samples to discover that the first version was nearly there all along. But I don’t think the other five were a waste of time. Sometimes you need to try all the options to understand why something works… and to know when to leave it alone.
Yesterday, Rhode Founder and Chief Creative Officer Hailey Bieber spoke at Fortune’s Most Powerful Women Summit in Santa Barbara, California. “I am not interested in overconsumption. I think the beauty space is very, very filled as it is,” Bieber said, adding that Rhode’s ethos was inspired by beauty essentials “as somebody who has been working since I was seventeen years old and traveling on my own.” Problem is, despite the brand’s commitment to “the reduction of overconsumption,” Rhode isn’t exactly known for sustainable products or practices. From bag charms for your makeup to wasteful PR packaging, talk is cheaper than its $16 pimple patch case (patches sold separately). Can the millionth celebrity skincare brand really avoid overconsumption or is the venn diagram a circle? Swipe through for examples that seem to counter the brand’s “commitment to our planet.” #business #reels #makeup #celeb #money
