Gas prices have gotten so ridiculously high that pulling into a gas station now feels like entering a luxury jewelry store. People stand there holding the pump with tears in their eyes watching the numbers climb faster than their credit card debt. A guy puts in eleven dollars and the car responds with, “Estimated range: good luck, brother.” Meanwhile, at the exact same time, half the country is also getting *high,* which creates the only economic situation where someone can spend $90 filling up a Honda Civic and still drive away smiling because they forgot why they were upset.

The irony becomes even funnier when people start combining the two experiences. Somebody finishes paying for gas, sees the total, and immediately says, “Yeah… I need to spiritually leave this dimension for a few hours.” Another guy is standing at Pump 7 staring into the distance like a Vietnam veteran whispering, “Back in my day, twenty bucks meant something.” Meanwhile his friend is sitting in the passenger seat absolutely blasted, holding a family-size bag of chips saying, “Bro… what if the gas station is actually the car drinking *us?*” At this point inflation and recreational activities have basically formed a support group together.

Building the future starts with a very unlikely team.

For years I talked about weighted vests as one of the best ways to build stronger bones. And then I spoke with @drvondawright and realized what actually did!!

I love my weighed vest, and they have MANY benefits.. especially if they help you move more, improve posture or increase intensity.

But when it comes to building bone density in menopausal women, the strongest research still points to impact training and progressive resistance training as the gold standard.

Things like:
• Jumping
• Hopping
• Step downs
• Resistance training with challenging loads

Ps. I liked a reel with knee friendly ways to build stronger bones.

Walking is still wonderful for overall health and supportive for bone health. But apparently, there’s very little evidence showing that simply adding a weighted vest to a walk meaningfully improves bone density on its own. Wear it with impact - that’s a different story!

A 2025 review on menopausal women found the best outcomes for bone mineral density came from combining resistance training with impact exercise several times per week.

If you’ve seen newer research specifically on weighted vest walking improving BMD in menopausal women, send it my way. I’m always excited to see new research. And yes i still wear mine all the time. ♥️
