Just a little redhead looking for trouble ❤️

Thanks @ourpacificnorthquest for helping me shoot this while Rye was still itty bitty

The perfect trio: This year was a little different. I spent a lot of time looking for backcountry hikes that would be easy enough for a 12year old and a 5 month old, while still being scenic, quiet, relatively free of rocky terrain, and timed for peak larch season.

This is Kananaskis park in Alberta, one of my favorite places I keep revisiting and trying new hikes. It's almost endless how many epic lakes and peaks there are in this single park. Most of it is out of reception including the campgrounds so plan carefully.

I had all three girls set up for a photo here, but it took about 20 minutes to get everyone organized. Rye kept running off to follow our friends to the lake because, apparently, the whole group needs to stay together at all times. Whiskey waited impatiently while I tried to wrangle everyone, and Bourbon spent her time pointing at chipmunks

My Whiskey Girl. ❤️ She was probably exhausted and ready for a nap, but I couldn't stop taking photos at such a pretty place, and she couldn't stop modelling. Not that we were complaining. I just love her so much that sometimes it physically hurts.

Whiskey has been teaching Rye how to model, too. I haven't had to train Rye directly. She just follows Whiskey's lead on where to go, how to pose, and how to earn cheese. It's pretty special watching them learn from each other.

Bourbon is still such a character. She aboslutley has not "settled down" at the ripe age of 6. Bourbon does what Bourbon wants, and I had the hardest time trying to get my awkward noodle to look at a camera here. Eventually I gave up.

People always ask me what's my favorite hikes and I could never say. It all changes with weather, company, seasons, and your own abilities on the day. What is easy one day, to one person, can completely change with snow, wind, 65lbs on the back and an injured dog. The most important thing is to plan accordingly and to have a good mindset and good company.

Her sugar face and frosty paws makes my heart hurt and my throat dry. I'm so grateful she's still out here, happily hiking alongside us, exploring these beautiful places, and doing what she loves. But I'm equally grateful that she still has enough sas

Lets go to the Rockies!

I may have been crazy but i took everyone off to Banff and Kananaskis for some epic hiking. We redid some of my favorite hikes and found some new ones. We had it all! Snow, rain, larches, sunsets, mountain peaks, passes and the most turquoise lakes.

Not pictured, my aching back carrying everything 3 dogs needed, tripping over leashes and the best cuddles in tents that Vizslas can provide (also so much dirt).

Happy 6 months, Rye! ❤️ You’ve been the sweetest, easiest, and most athletic puppy, and what a little adventure girl you’ve become! We’ve summited so many peaks and ridges together, and I honestly can’t imagine many puppies who’ve done more hiking and backcountry camping than you.

You’ve learned so much from your Auntie B, and I swear you’re almost catching up to her in speed! 🏔️🐾

Thank you to @redblend_vizslas @alpine.vizslas @plainshay @littlerudyrutabaga for making this perfect little girl part of my life.

To mark Flag Day, I was honoured to raise the UAE flag at Qasr Al Hosn alongside 55 accomplished individuals from various sectors, representing the 55 years of our Union. As we reflect on the journey begun by the late Sheikh Zayed and his fellow Rulers, we look with confidence to our people, whose ambition and determination will continue to drive the UAE’s progress and prosperity.
