BEND, OREGON | The Murderer Behind the Gun His name is John J. Griffin II. He was 16. Law enforcement sources have confirmed his identity to multiple national outlets, though Bend Police have not officially released it. He wasn't a stranger to Silver Rail. He lived just down the road, and his parents told investigators he once walked those same halls as a student. On Thursday, he came back with a 12-gauge pump-action shotgun. Sources say his mother bought it around his birthday in August. How it ended up in his hands that afternoon is still under investigation. Years earlier, his mother spoke publicly about how hard school had been for him. At 10, he was struggling, and she hoped specialized teachers could give him the help he needed. Somewhere between that little boy and Thursday afternoon, something went terribly wrong. Police haven't said what. But we know what it cost. Three children, ages 5, 8 and 11. A teacher. Two more still fighting for their lives. Those are the names Bend will carry. His will not be the one we remember. #BendOregon #SilverRailElementary #BendStrong #CentralOregon #TheDailyDossier
The 49ers really broke the Seahawks 😭😭 New users get $25 on Polymarket with code MEMSS Polymarket Partner The Denver Broncos took down the defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks 17-14 in an overtime thriller, with the defense doing almost all the heavy lifting. Bo Nix completed 17 of 27 passes for just 107 yards, while Denver finished with only 168 total yards of offense. J.K. Dobbins rushed for 41 yards on 17 carries and scored a touchdown, while rookie RJ Harvey added a 1-yard rushing score. The Broncos’ defense made up for the offensive struggles by recording 5 sacks, 17 quarterback hits and 3 takeaways, constantly disrupting Sam Darnold and keeping Seattle off the scoreboard for most of the game. Darnold finished 27-of-51 for 278 yards, zero touchdowns and 2 interceptions, taking five sacks in a frustrating night for Seattle’s offense. Jaxon Smith-Njigba was the clear bright spot, hauling in 12 receptions for 134 yards, while Emanuel Wilson added 52 rushing yards on 14 carries. Seattle erased an 11-point fourth-quarter deficit behind George Holani’s touchdown and a successful two-point conversion before Jason Myers tied the game with a 34-yard field goal with three seconds left. But Ja’Quan McMillian’s overtime interception changed everything, setting up Wil Lutz’s clutch 53-yard game-winner. Denver improved to 4-2, while Seattle fell to 3-3 after its second straight loss.
