Amy and I had a nice miny vacay. First we went to St Marys to visit my Pop and step-mom Carol on Friday and stayed overnight. It was a great visit. Some how, I failed to take any photos though. Then Saturday afternoon we trekked down to St. Augustine and stayed night on the bay front. We walked all over the historic downtown, and did a tour of Flagler college today. It was a grand time!

On Wednesday I was fortunate enough to be given an Honorary title of โ€œDoctor of Artsโ€ by @bathspauni and I couldnโ€™t be more grateful! Firstly, Iโ€™d like to start by saying congratulations to everyone who I met yesterday and anyone at all who has graduated this year. Also, to anyone who has worked for an actual doctorate this is by no means anywhere near as impressive as anything you have done or achieved, nor will I pretend it is, serious hats off to you all. When I got offered this opportunity my initial reaction was disbelief; as I wondered why I deserved such a privilege. I even questioned accepting due to the over consuming imposter syndrome. However, that is a feeling Iโ€™ve felt a lot over the last few years and the opportunities Iโ€™ve been able to experience because of that feeling of โ€œwhy me?โ€ have been the best of my life. So, I accepted despite that feeling due to one main reason. When I was at uni (and to an extent to this day) I feared judgement. I knew I wanted to make videos because Iโ€™d watched them for years and had a desire that Iโ€™d not felt for anything else before; but I didnโ€™t act on it because it wasnโ€™t comfortable and I was scared what people would think. That feeling hasnโ€™t left, rather itโ€™s become easier to deal with the more I branch outside of my comfort zone. Appearing on other peopleโ€™s channels, dancing and public speaking wouldโ€™ve felt even more alien to the version of me that hadnโ€™t yet started posting and putting himself out of his comfort zone. So I accepted because if any 1 person resonated with that maybe they could take a bit of a leap themselves. I donโ€™t think Iโ€™m the best or most talented content creator around and I donโ€™t class myself as โ€œsuccessfulโ€. However, to me that shows you donโ€™t have to have it all figured out or be the final article to give it a go. It was a true honour and a privilege to be considered and one hell of a side quest. So thanks again to Bath Spa University and to you all for allowing me to have a job I wake up daily wondering how I got so lucky. (Honorary)Dr. Clarkey x
