🦇🖤🥀 What if everything you thought you knew about Dracula was only half the story? Thank you @suzyapprovedbooktours and @karenessex for this lovely book. I’ve always been fascinated by Dracula, so getting to experience this familiar tale through Mina’s eyes was something I couldn’t resist. And Karen Essex did such a wonderful job with this retelling! Dracula in Love is dark, seductive, mysterious, and dripping with gothic atmosphere. Basically, everything I love in a story like this. What I enjoyed most was watching Mina’s transformation. She begins as a rather innocent young woman with her future all planned out, but a mysterious stranger has other ideas. And let’s just say her life is never quite the same. The tension, the strange dreams, the forbidden attraction, and that constant feeling that something bigger was going on had me completely intrigued. I especially loved the moments between Mina and the Count. Their connection was easily one of my favorite parts! The pacing slowed down a bit though once everything started falling into place, I was completely invested and wanted a lot more. Still, this was such a captivating, atmospheric read. I loved seeing Mina find her voice and discovering a completely different side of a story I’ve known for years. If you love gothic fiction, complicated characters, dark romance, and a little supernatural mystery, this one is worth picking up! Are you a fan of Dracula retellings? Or do you prefer your vampires dark, dangerous, and a little mysterious? Do you enjoy classic stories told from a different character’s perspective? . . . . Dracula in Love by Karen Essex, gothic fiction, Dracula retelling, vampire romance, dark romantic fiction, atmospheric reads, supernatural mystery, Mina Harker, gothic book recommendations, historical gothic fiction. Book I’d recommend #DraculaInLove #KarenEssex #GothicFiction #VampireBooks #BookstagramReviews
Hey everyone! This is a post I really wish I didn’t have to make, but I recently learned some heartbreaking news about someone whose voice has brought so much joy to so many people. Ashleigh Ball, best known for voicing Applejack and Rainbow Dash on My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic, Blythe Baxter on Littlest Pet Shop, and Jet Propulsion on Ready Jet Go!, has been battling Stage IV Triple Negative Breast Cancer since August 2025. When I heard about this, my heart just sank. Ashleigh is such an incredibly talented voice actress who has helped bring so many beloved childhood characters to life. It’s heartbreaking knowing that someone who has made millions of people smile is going through something so difficult. I can only imagine what she and her loved ones have been experiencing throughout this journey. I want to send my love, support, and prayers to Ashleigh and her entire family during this difficult time. I pray that God continues to give her strength, comfort, peace, and hope every single day. Ashleigh, thank you for sharing your incredible talent with the world and for bringing these unforgettable characters into our lives. We love you, Ashleigh, and we are all rooting for you! ❤️🙏🎀
