couple of new/old pieces up in the webshop. first two are 12x12" on wood and the last is 14x14" on canvas.
the first one i just finally completed after it's been sitting around my studio for the better part of a year waiting for final touches. i had to add a few more art mantras and give it a coat of gloss medium but it's ready to go now. yes it really is a weird off-white with a blue/green cast to it, cuz i did some glazes to make the white parts more interesting. it's kinda unusual but i like it. all that detail you see is carved in with an awl, into the paint and wood.
the second one will look familiar as it was first a 2 page spread in my art journal, one of my daily 20 minute sessions that just came out unexpectedly. i decided i liked it enough to try to replicate it on wood. the result is kinda different - i again carved a lot of the details into the wood and paint with an awl and there was already a ton of texture on the board from previous layers. but i dunno, i kinda like the result. weird little creatures, blobs, aliens. maybe ghosts.
the third one is an older canvas that i was never quite sure if i was done or not with it. it's been on my studio wall for a few years now and i like to look at it. i like the undulating blue line that goes across. i like the patchwork of pinks and oranges and greys that is the background, with random lines and textures. my eyes enjoy looking all over this canvas and appreciating all that goes into it. i hope yours do too.
linktree with webshop link in my profile. or, ya know, artbymags.com.
