🚫🇩🇰 Denmark is moving forward with a new law that would give people copyright protection over their own faces, voices, and bodies to fight AI deepfakes. The country first announced the plan in June 2025. Now, more than a year later, Denmark has introduced a bill to turn that proposal into law. If passed, people could demand the removal of realistic AI-generated videos, images, or audio that copy their appearance or voice without consent. They could also seek compensation. The proposal includes exceptions for parody and satire to protect freedom of expression. Tech platforms could face penalties if they fail to meet their legal duties. Denmark hopes the law will take effect in early 2027, but parliament still needs to approve it. If passed, it could make Denmark one of the first countries to protect people's likenesses through copyright law. Should other countries follow Denmark's example? 🤔💬 Source: Reuters
Everyone says, “I want to get into tech law.” Almost no one knows where to actually intern for it. Tech law, data privacy and AI regulation are becoming increasingly important in India. With data protection laws, platform regulation and AI governance evolving rapidly, there’s a growing opportunity for law students to build expertise in this space. So, I’ve put together a list of 40 places where law students can intern in tech law and tech policy including: - Law firms with strong TMT and data privacy practices - Think tanks and digital rights organisations - Government ministries and regulators - Paid fellowships for recent graduates Here are a few things most law students don’t realise: → Tech policy think tanks often place significant weight on your writing sample, not just your CGPA. → A well-researched blog post on data protection or AI regulation can help you stand out. → Some government and regulator internships offer stipends. → Smaller law firms can offer valuable tech-litigation exposure and may be open to cold emails. If you’re interested in technology, privacy or AI law, this is a good place to start exploring opportunities beyond the usual law firm internships. Comment “list” or send this reel to me in my DMs and I’ll send you the Excel sheet in your DMs! Save this post, and share it with a friend who wants to work in AI law but doesn’t know where to begin. #TechLaw #DataPrivacy #TechPolicy #LawStudents #LawInternships AIRegulation DigitalRights LegalCareers LawSchoolIndia
