Springtime in Alaska… ❤️ It’s not quite 40 below, but it’s every bit of 35 degrees with on and off snow! I was thrilled to see the sun come out for the first time yesterday since arriving here on Friday! ☀️ The @alaska.airmen’s Aviation Gathering event ends today, then it’s on to Valdez later in the week! 🤠🐻

Whatttt it was 50 degrees yesterday for the stol comp. Wind definitely makes it feel colder though. Welcome to the best place to fly in the US 🙌

Little Birdie had what can be best described as a bad little “turn” yesterday. I don’t know if that’s a medical term but in Ireland and England you hear it all the time. She had a very serious moment as an older lady and she’s lucky to be alive. 🤒 We thought we’d lost her for a while as we found her on the edge in her beloved retirement home. The medical team saved her and all her vitals returned to normal. Heat stoke and some other possibilities have been looked at. Either way she is not well at all. 🛌 I decided to bring her up to my house as the hospital is very noisy and busy with sick dogs. I didn’t think it was the place to be so she is up with nurse Hank and little chance. It scared her a little at first as she is weak and Hank looks big and scary so she got a little out of breath but she has settled in. 🍣 She is eating smoked salmon and poached chicken and drinking well but her power is very very low. Birdie is at least 12 years old. 💻 I’m hoping she rallies a little in the coming week after her little turn as she had been very well and healthy recently albeit her usual slow self given her age. I canceled all my plans for the day to work on laptop and spend time with her. 💤 After dinner she slept on me for an hour. It was the deepest lost peaceful sleep I think she’s ever have. Birdie was snoring her little heart out. I don’t know what her future holds but I could care the thought of her passing away at night alone in the hospital. She loves humans so much. I’ll be moving her bed in beside mine fit her night and watching her little belly rising up and down. Keep your fingers crossed for the most beautiful little old lady there ever was 🤞❤️
