A ticket broker allegedly made more than $833,000 in profit from reselling tickets to a single Beyoncé concert during her Renaissance World Tour, according to a new federal lawsuit. The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) alleges that REPS & Company Inc. used approximately 1,300 accounts to purchase 7,624 tickets to Beyoncé’s October 2023 concert in Kansas City, Missouri. The company allegedly bypassed Ticketmaster’s purchasing limits, which restricted customers to between four and eight tickets for the event. The Beyoncé concert was reportedly part of a much larger operation. According to federal officials, REPS spent more than $1.3 billion purchasing over 18.5 million tickets to at least 83,500 events since 2022, generating at least $120.8 million in resale profits. Christopher Mufarrige, Director of the FTC’s Bureau of Consumer Protection, said: “REPS’ entire business model is focused on trying to game the ticket-purchasing system in order to obtain as many tickets as possible to resell at inflated prices to consumers.” Federal investigators allege the company used thousands of accounts, virtual credit cards, disguised IP addresses and other methods to get around ticket purchasing restrictions. The lawsuit, filed on October 15, also names three company executives and accuses them of violating the Better Online Ticket Sales (BOTS) Act. The allegations have not been proven in court, and Beyoncé is not accused of any wrongdoing. What are your thoughts? Have ticket resellers made it harder for fans to afford concerts?
Katie Zacharia’s brief tenure as White House press secretary ended Friday after only five days on the job, making her the shortest-serving person in the role in modern U.S. history. President Donald Trump announced Zacharia’s appointment on October 9 as the successor to Karoline Leavitt. She officially began the role on October 12. Her first and only briefing in the James S. Brady Press Briefing Room took place the following day and lasted roughly 14–15 minutes. She took a limited number of questions, primarily from conservative-leaning outlets, and the performance drew widespread criticism for its brevity, reliance on prepared remarks, and overall delivery. Compounding the scrutiny was the revelation about her legal credentials. Zacharia, a 2011 graduate of Pepperdine University’s Caruso School of Law, had repeatedly described herself as a lawyer and was introduced by Trump as an “attorney.” She later confirmed she sat for the California bar exam in 2011 but did not pass and never became licensed to practice law in any U.S. jurisdiction. The issue intensified after she gave an unclear response when asked where she had passed the bar, and a complaint was filed with the California State Bar Association regarding whether she had improperly held herself out as entitled to practice law. On Friday, Trump told reporters outside the White House that he had spoken with Zacharia and suggested she “reconsider” the position. He said he told her she did not need the job and expressed concern that she might not be happy in it, while also criticizing the media’s coverage of her. Shortly afterward, White House officials confirmed she was transitioning out of the role. Reports described the move variously as her being let go or fired. It remains unclear whether she will take another position in the administration or Trump’s orbit. Zacharia’s five-day tenure is shorter than Anthony Scaramucci’s 11-day stint as White House communications director in 2017. The rapid exit returns the White House communications operation to a period of uncertainty ahead of the midterm elections. Sources: @FoxNews #lunionsuite #haitianamerican
Встречу журналист описал в одной главе книги «A Search in Secret India».

А мне рубашка @alinecollection.ru .
