This year’s Met Gala theme, ‘Costume Art’, explores the relationship between clothing, the body, and art history, with the dress code “Fashion is Art”.

For today’s reference and moodboard, we’re looking at the visual language we hope to see on the carpet: sculptural silhouettes, painterly textures, archival references, exaggerated form, body as canvas, garment as object, and styling that understands the assignment beyond just a pretty dress or tailored tux.
