@njit_ewb won the 2025-2026 Outstanding Student Organization Award in Newark College of Engineering’s Salute to Engineering Excellence. The chapter designed a piping system to bring clean water to houses in a remote village in Ecuador. Previously, villagers had to travel a steep slope to collect water from a stream below them that was mostly contaminated. The team first learned the software program that the Ecuadorians were using before the students designed their own systems to check if their pipe would provide enough water pressure for the village.
