Someone on X recently asked Grok to name the worst spy agency out of Mossad, CIA, MI6, FSB, RAW and MSS.

Grok said that when you go by scale, reach and resources, R&AW often ends up at the bottom.

That did not go down well. The replies filled up with Indian users asking Grok what it actually meant, and they kept asking.

What caught my attention, though, was who wasn’t in the picture. There was no ISI.

R&AW was never going to match the CIA, MI6, Mossad or the MSS on budget or global reach.

Those agencies work on a scale most services in the world can’t touch.

The agency R&AW really gets measured against is the ISI, since the two share a region, a rivalry and a long history of working against each other.

Leave the ISI out and you’ve removed the one comparison that makes sense.

This is what happens when intelligence agencies get ranked like football or cricket teams. They don’t play in the same league or by the same rules.

Every agency is shaped by its own country’s threats, geography and priorities/

TW: stilgeboorte 🌟

Tijmen is totaal onverwachts stil geboren.

mag doen, dansen, spelen,
en daar als een vlindertje,
voor altijd bij ons hoort.

Veel liefs,
Papa & Mama
