when I turned 26 last year (and even 25 the year before) I felt that I didn’t have much to celebrate. I was stuck in a slump with no direction and it felt like I wasn’t being an active participant in my own life. It was hard for me to find enjoyment or motivation to do the smallest tasks, and I just remember hoping and praying that things would turn around one day.

And one day they did :’) So I’m celebrating every version of myself that brought me here to my late 20’s, bc she deserves to be honored, even when she didn’t think so.

so cheers to 27 and all that’s to come!! thank you for being here xx 🫶🏼🥹💖

Fahd Alshemali, 14, was just two years old when his father was killed in the conflict in Syria, forcing his family to flee.

After arriving in Sheffield, he got into kickboxing and became an English champion.

Now, he says he's 'proud' to be representing the country which adopted him at the ISKA World Championships in Madrid.
