What are some of your favorite scents?  Immortal Rose  4.5 stars I did have two false starts with this book. I had the audio as an arc, and only made it to 10% on two separate attempts. I realized it must have been my mood and I just wasn't feeling an audiobook at the moment. But once I had the physical book it was so much easier to get into. And I rather enjoyed this! This does move a little bit slower, but it's the type of slower paced that I really enjoy.  The romance was soo good! I'm a sucker for a slow burn, and I love a hate-to-love situation. I was almost unsure of how the author would make Huge likeable and redeem him for what he does in the beginning of the book, and I held on to not liking him for a good portion, because I really wanted to see him profusely apologize and beg on his knees for forgiveness. He didn't exactly get on his knees as I would have loved, but he does several small acts of kindness and then says some super sweet stuff later on, and finally won over my cold heart. The yearning definitely helped thaw my heart too, because I love to see it, and oh how he yearns! This was truly a real slow burn, and I was all for it.

On a moonless night near Mount Whitney, giant spotlights lit up the desert twice the brightness of a full moon. It was a demonstration of the light Reflect Orbital plans to deliver from space, using a swarm of mirrored satellites to reflect sunlight back to Earth after dark. The company has touted the technology as transformative for search and rescue operations. The volunteer rescuers who tested it weren't as convinced. Read the full story at the link in our bio. To learn more about Reflect Orbital's plans and the potential impacts of increased activity in low Earth orbit on the nighttime environment, join a special workshop, “Understanding the new space economy,” at DarkSky International's upcoming virtual conference, Under One Sky, on November 7 at 11:00 a.m. EST. 📸 Photos 1–2: Rick Burnes, courtesy of China Lake Mountain Rescue Group 📸 Photo 3: John Quach
